Getting back to nature

I think Spring is almost here!  Went for an early morning run and there was lots of chirping and birds flying around - usually its dead quiet.  I CANNOT wait....

During the run I got to thinking (dangerous - I know), treadmill runs at the gym have sucked with a capital S.  I feel sluggish, tired, totally dreading the next step.  But when I pound the pavement - its a whole different world.  I am ready to go.  Last weekend I was able to do 8.5 when I was hoping to do 7.  The run this morning felt good too even though I haven't been sleeping well.  So I've decided to listen to my body (shocker!) I will get up early, early to run and then hit the gym later in the day for cross-training/weights.  We'll see how it goes...

Plans for the weekend have changed.  I'll have a WHOLE weekend to myself.  Life has gotten a bit hectic so Superman has advised me that I need a break.  And this time I'm listening.  He is planning to take off work early so I can head to the beach this afternoon.  Hopefully I can get a long run in tomorrow - its supposed to be around 60 degrees and sunny/cloudy mix. Perfect weather!  P90X yoga will be in my bag - really need to start stretching again or an injury will eventually pop up.  Taking Sashay with me for company - maybe we'll hit the beach for some long walks.

Note to self - really need to start taking some pix!!
