Yes - we had an earthquake! So crazy! The princesses and I were home when it happened. It was definitely an experience! Started out as a low rumble – thought it was a large truck going by or that someone had cut down a tree. But the rumble continued to increase in sound and vibration. I ran out the door to see if maybe an airplane had hit the ground or something. Then I saw the whole house shaking. Ran back inside and got everyone out to the backyard. All of our neighbors were outside as well. No damage – a few things fell to the floor but that was it. Decided to head to a nearby park for the rest of the afternoon. Superman was golfing in PA and didn’t feel a thing. I guess he was in his golf cart when it happened. Now we may have a hurricane on our hands!
We made it home Monday evening for Princesse E's kindergarten teacher conference yesterday. All went well. Meeting her teacher, seeing her classroom, finding her locker helped make this big step much easier for her. So exciting and so sad at the same time. Can't believe she is going to go to "real" school! I really like her teacher - very down to earth. She seems to share some of the same views as we do. Life is an experience not a competition.
In other big news.... I got a JOB! (I thought I'd add one more thing to our amazing day;)). It's part-time at a local running store. Couple nights a week, a day shift here and there, and one Sat a month. Can't wait! I cannot thank my good running friend, K, for getting me the job. She currently works there and recommended me to the manager and that was it. It seemed like I was basically hired before I even stepped in the door.
Whew! What a day!
